Matthew G: Interesting stuff - thanks for the comparison Ritual Haze!

I will say that these reactive load boxes are very expensive and in my opinion, they don't really justify the price. Ok, so you get more of a dynamic feel, but in terms of creating a record, most producers/sound engineers I know absolutely squash any dynamics out of a track with compression anyway! And in terms of the high frequency lift the impedance curve gives you, this is nothing you can't do with an equaliser.

In my live rig I use a Blubox DI to feed my signal to the desk at gigs, but rather than using a loadbox, I always have a speaker connected. Because of this, I get to experience a sound with an impedance curve regardless, however, if I was to use the loadbox I'm not sure how many complaints I'd have from myself or the audience about a lack of dynamics... I'd much rather be focused on my performance and over all sound. Also, on a loud stage with drums/other instruments in my ears, will I really notice? Probably not.

ZozobraDoom: Sounds great. Did you tap the line out off the dummy load in the same way the weber load line does? minus the tone control of course.

seamanjive: Im really struggling to hear any significant difference . . .hold on , in the upper register it sound a bit less "alive" on the resitive setting.

Fantastic demo, thx.

Sean Maher: Pretty disingenuous stuff. You don't have to like the Iranian regime to know it is severely threatened by the west and sees a nuke as vital. They know that the west is responsible for millions of Iranian deaths in the last century - due three invasions and a coup - and thanks to hawks like Hitchens and the dense surrounding network of US bases, another invasion could easily happen. He pins all the blame on those nasty Ayatollahs, happily ignoring history for once in order to ingratiate himself with Washington's worst.
